Course Description
Anesthesiologist participants will actively manage realistic simulation scenarios that demonstrate clinical and technical skills as well as teamwork and communication. The participant to instructor ratio will not exceed 3 to 1, in order to provide a quality learning environment. Those participants without prior simulation experience will receive a thorough introduction to the mannequin, facility, and equipment before beginning any scenarios. After a customized pre-briefing, the participant will receive several scenarios that may focus on one of the following conditions: hemorrhage, hemoptysis, myocardial infarction, amniotic embolus, or seizure. Each participant is guaranteed to play the primary role in at least one scenario. Each session will be immediately followed by a video debriefing that will include mention of the relevant clinical and technical actions as well as the examples of team dynamics and communication skills. All recordings are for the benefit of the participant and will not be released from the Center.
Breakfast and lunch are provided.
